This part of the face changes and remodels very much as a result of aging. A characteristic feature of the facial features in young people is a narrow chin with a marked line of the lower jaw. The contour is then lifted and “climbs” smoothly towards the ears. The top of the so-called “triangle of youth” is a narrow chin and the base is convex cheekbones as well as outlined eyebrows and eyes. With age, the “youth triangle” disappears and the facial features transgress into another shape, known as the “old age pyramid”. The tissues around the cheekbones droop and flatten and this area becomes the top of the pyramid. The oval widens and the jaw line is disturbed by the falling tissues. Flabby skin appears, a characteristic feature of the aging face at 40+.
Only advanced and intelligent rejuvenation therapies, including dental and orthodontic treatments, can make the face look young and natural again. At Triclinium we offer a wide array of them.
