Face mask is an intraoral device used in developmental children to treat anterior jaw deficiency.
It consists of two acrylic pads located on the forehead and chin, wire frame and lifts connecting the mask to the corresponding intra-oral device (e.g. Hyrax). It works most effectively in children aged 7-9, when the potential for jaw growth is the greatest. It should be worn for at least 12 hours a day.
