One of the main and most common mistakes in the treatment of hyperpigmentation is incompetent diagnosis or even lack of it, and thus, selection of procedures irrelevant to the problem.
The standard and most popular methods of spot removal (mechanical or chemical peelings such as dermabrasion or cosmelan) very often produce short effects (till the next exposure to the sun) and sometimes even worsen the skin condition. The treatment of hyperpigmentation requires an individual approach, very accurate diagnosis and, if necessary, combination of a variety of methods.
How we treat discolorations at Triclinium
Color Sense is a trademark therapy for discoloration removal developed at Triclinium clinic. It employs two selectively operating lasers: bromide-copper and Q-Switch laser. Although both devices cope well with many types of hyperpigmentation on a separate basis, in case of most severe skin changes we tend to combine their operation.
Each of the above mentioned lasers uses a different mechanism and depth of skin penetration, and thus very well complements each other. Bromide-copper laser affects melanocytes thermally and Q-Switch –mechanically -breaking them down. The mode and operation parameters of both lasers are selected individually for each patient, which is possible only if the treatment is preceded by a thorough and accurate diagnosis. Without this element, even most modern equipment may not produce the expected results.
