Dark circles under the eyes are a common problem occurring in up to 30% of adults. Although usually associated with people who are sleep-deprived, exhausted and stressed, it does not have to be the case. Darker color of the skin under the eyes is caused by many factors, such as: genetic conditions, age or circulatory disorders. The shadows are visible when fatty tissue is lost in the lower eyelid, which causes the area to collapse and thus the shadow effect. In addition, the skin becomes thinner with age and the capillaries begin to shine through it, giving a blue color. The impression is intensified by the sagging skin of these areas, caused by the aging process. Despite the fact that we do not have much influence on the above-mentioned factors, we can counteract their unpleasant effects with appropriately selected treatments.
