Modern dentistry offers a wide range of treatments dealing not only with caries or malocclusion but also leading to restoration or creation of a beautiful smile. Our teeth, even if treated and healthy, may diverge from an ideal in terms of size, shape, arch setting or color. For many patients teeth which appear to be too small, crooked, dark or discolored constitutea serious problem and affect overall well-being. Even, proportionally large, white, and a complete set of teeth can not only improve the smile as such but also fundamentally influence features of our face and rejuvenate it.
At Triclinium we offer fillings with composite materials characterized by high aesthetics, smoothness and assimilation properties to the natural tooth color -the so called “chameleon effect”. This solution is aesthetic, economical and quick.
Crown inlays and on-lays constitute an alternative to classic fillings in premolars and molars. This method requires more time (min 2 visits), as inlays/on-lays are prepared and produced in the dental laboratory based on impressions. Yet it allows for much more accurate reconstruction of cusps and fissures (as in a natural tooth), as well as greater durability and aesthetics. They can be made of porcelain or composite.
The correction of shape, length and color as well as closing of the gaps between anterior teeth can be done with veneers. In many cases where crowding or rotation of the teeth is not too serious, our smile can be bettered with thin flakes of porcelain or composite. Discoloration, unsightly fillings, cracks orworn edges –allcandisappear under the right veneer.
We must remember however that malocclusion, bruxism or other parafunctions (e.g. habitual biting of hard objects or nails) can lead to veneer damage. Thus their application may be sometimes limited and the decision must be preceded by an accurate analysis of occlusion and medical interview.
In most cases veneers are made by an experienced technician on the basis of an impression. They require relatively little preparation of the tooth surface (as they have a certain thickness). The ultra-thin additive veneers do not require this.
Besides the methods described above, treatments in the field of orthodontics, prosthetics (crowns, bridges), implantology, as well as prophylaxis and hygiene also have an essential impact on our perfect smile.
